Newly-elected President Barack Obama has begun to name those who will serve under his Cabinet. For the U.S. Treasury Secretary, several people are in the running:
As mentioned in our last post, Obama has already nominated Rahm Emanuel to be his Chief of Staff. We briefly covered the fact that Rahm's father, Benjamin M. Emanuel, was born in Israel and is a citizen of Israel as well as a card-carrying member of a terrorist organization called Irgun.
Granted, Irgun's story is complicated. But the truth is, in 1931, the year the organization was founded, the British Mandate of Palestine had a 10% Jewish population. The organization subsequently declared that all Jews were entitled to settle there, which caused the region's Jewish population to surge upwards. The Arabs feared they were going to lose their land and turned to terrorism to push out the Jews, and this was countered by Irgun's own terrorist activities.
With the White Paper of 1939, the British government revealed its plan to put an end to the terrorism and create an independent, multi-ethnic state out of the region, which would be populated by both the Arabs and the Jews. But Irgun did not want the deal. Thus, in 1943, Irgun attacked the British and began engaging in further acts of terror so as to pave the way for the creation of a single, Jewish-controlled state - today's Israel. Which brings up the question: WHY ARE WE NEVER TOLD THIS?
And why is Rahm Emmanuel America's new Chief of Staff?
#1 Jon Corzine - the Jewish Governor of New Jersey. Corzine, also a former Senator, formerly was chief of Jewish banking giant Goldman, Sachs & Co.
#2 Paul Volcker - Chairman of the Federal Reserve from 1979 to 1987.
#3 Tim Geithner - this Jew is the current president of the Federal Reserve itself.
#4 Robert Rubin - Rubin was the Jew who served as the Secretary of the Treasury under Bill Clinton during both of his terms.
#5 Larry Summers - Summers is a familiar face, not a change here either Mr. Obama, as he served as U.S. Treasury Secretary under Clinton during the last half of his 2nd term and was preceded by Rubin. Summers was the first Jewish president of Harvard University.
